CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEMBER 

Central Committee Members are essential leaders within the Bay Village Democratic Club. They serve as highly informed, active Democrats who help strengthen voter engagement and turnout in every election. Each member represents a specific precinct and works year‑round to connect with neighbors, share information, and encourage Democratic participation.
 

As elected representatives, Central Committee Members are expected to be accessible to any voter in their precinct. They are a trusted point of contact for questions, resources, and opportunities to get involved—helping ensure that every Democrat in Bay Village has a voice and feels connected to our local civic community. Our Democratic Club relies heavily on central committee members to be engaged participants in the work we do as a club.

Central Committee members have the following responsibilities:

• Attend the Leader Candidate Endorsement Screening Meetings.

• OrganizeExecutive Committee Members to ensure high participation rates in the endorsement process for your City / Ward.

• Encourage consistent periodic meetings for Local Democratic Club.

• Be an informational resource and campaign liaison concerning  Ward / City for Endorsed Democratic candidates.

• Coordinate even-year local party campaign activities with the staff from the County Party and State Party. Organize  City / Ward Democratic Party campaign effort.

• In conjunction with the Board of Elections, recruit Election Day Poll Workers where needed.

• Support the fundraising efforts of the County Party.

• Review the financial records of the Party.

• Notify the Executive Director of the party of any changes in address or phone number as well as any development that forces a member to resign.

Activities for Central Committee Members

To successfully maximize the Democratic vote in member's precinct, they should engage in the following activities, as well as any other acitivities that the member considers helpful for the promotion of the Democratic Party:

1. Learn as much as possible about the party’s endorsed candidates to promote them to voters.

2. Attend relevant training sessions held by the Party.

3. Support the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party through volunteer work, direct contributions to the Party or its endorsed candidates, or organize fundraisers for the Party or its endorsed candidates.

4. Attend the meetings of civic organizations to discuss the key issues in the precinct and to promote the Democratic Party. Inform the appropriate elected officials of these issues.

5. Recruit, organize, train, and manage team members and volunteers.

6. Liaison between Democratic Party and community residents.

7. Liaison between Endorsed Democratic Candidates and the community residents

8. Distribute campaign material at meetings, events, and during canvasses.

9. Work with team on phone banking, canvassing, and other events.
